I do not know because I am not in that business but I think that you write pilots for a potential tv show then submit them to a studio. You do not have to have any special degrees if you write a good pilot then I guess the studio will buy it from you. I think they get thousands of pilots a year. Writing scripts is not really something that you just get hired to do. I think your dad wants you to have a major that he thinks will get you a job. I think you should major in business and just get the minor. You can try and shoot for the stars but if that does not work out then you can get a typical job.

Is there anything I can feed or spray on a stray cat to keep the bugs off of her.?

A stray cat living in our woods had kittens. A few days after she still had a messy butt, but we assumed it was because of having the kittens, but it has been weeks and she still over grooms her butt and legs. I think it is because of all of the bugs on her, and then I think the sores on her butt and legs are attracting the bugs even more. I cannot catch her, and I cannot trap her because she is too smart to ever go on our porch even when bribed with food. Is there anything I can feed her or spray on her to deter the bugs. We can get close to her, but not knowingly touch her. I have only touched her back once when she wasn't looking because she thought I was her kitten behind her. She looks miserable so I am desperate for any answers you may have. If I ask the vet they will obviously say that she needs flea medicine, but they don't sell them unless they see the animal, which is not an option.

I hope you got the digital ones because I have found those to be the BEST! I will tell you that when I used them I tried both in the morning when I first woke up and then again around 2 or 3 pm. The day that I got my smiley face, I had tested when I first got up and got a negative....then got my positive at 3 o;clock in the afternoon! Next time I will only test in the afternoon and not in the morning because I have learned that the ovulation tests are not like pregnancy test in the way that you need to test in the morning. Unlike the pregnancy hormone, LH hormone takes a few hours after waking up to build up in your system so the afternoon testing is sufficient! Good luck and those smiley faces are super exciting!! =)

I'm an atheist myself, but enjoy talking about religious beliefs, so I just have a question. I was raised in Church, and I can remember asking in Sunday School why God made evil. My teacher responded that God did not make evil, but he gave man free will to follow him or not. But i also heard countless times about "God's plan for everyone." My question is how can the two exist in conjunction? If God has a plan, he planned for evil to exist, which is a pretty awful thing to knowingly put on us. If he gave man free will, how can everyone's will just happen to fit into his plan? That's not a plan, that's a guess. If he but evil on us, he can't be all good, and if he doesn't know what's going to happen, he can't be all knowing.

Would two Surge protectors be better to protect my phone line?

my computer and electronics are plugged into two surge protectors under my desk, one for the computer and one for the networking so that way neither strip has a ton of stuff on it. One of the protectors my phone line is plugged into it and the other is just a regular surge protector. I live in an area where we can get some pretty wicked lightning and the phone lines get hit a lot, so I was thinking maybe I should replace my second surge protector with another one that has the phone line protection and then have the phone line protected on two surge protectors rather than one, so then there is a much better chance nothing will get hit. Will this work like planned or is it possible the two protectors may slow down the signals or something? I want to make sure so then I don't get another protector and find out oooh this really cut down my phone line strength or something.

I was having problems with my computer shutting down on its own and then I wasn't noticing a fan running prior to the issues. One day I came to the computer and nothing would turn on. I also noticed that the outlet had been tripped because other things plugged into the surge protector were reset. I purchased a power supply and replaced it but nothing is turning on. How far north do tropical airmasses (dewpoints in excess of 70 degrees) go into Canada?

Occassionally in the summertime, warm fronts, bringing dewpoints in the 70's will "surge" northward into the Northern United States. Every few days, for example, Chicago will see dewpoints inthe 70's, along with Green Bay, and sometimes even into the U.P. of Michigan. On weather maps, I never see warm fronts more than 200 or so miles north of the Canada border, but I also know US weather maps do not forecast for Canada - especially in areas where no one lives - very few people live 300 miles North of Marquette or Caribou. Do tropical airmasses ever reach Churchill, how about Igaligut (capital of Nunagut)? I do know that hot temperatures will occassionally reach Alaska, latitudes of 70 degrees or ever higher, but I never see HOT airmasses going over 55 degrees in Central Canada. Why is this?

I would really like to move to England after high school and attend college there. Question about student loans?

I accepted about $12,000 in student loans for the 2011-2012 year. On my award letter the loan is divided into three quarters, fall, winter, and spring. However I am not attending fall quarter. The financial aid office said that is ok, I can accept the loan for the full amount anyway. So will my loan be divided into the 3 quarters, so I get about 4,000 each quarter? Even if I am not attending fall, I will receive the $4,000? I would ask the financial aid office but they NEVER answer their phones and aren't very helpful. How to get rid of forehead wrinkles?

I'm only 23 and I'm already starting to get some wrinkles in my forehead. It usually looks way way worse when i have makeup on. Why doesn't my mom want to drive me to school?

I will be attending a private school this August and it is 30 minutes away from where we currently live. This school is in a city and we live in a town far out in the country. My mom wants to move closer to the city, but we have not had much luck finding a house to rent(at all). It's very hard for us right now, but anyways, I need to find a solution on how to get there just in case we do not move or rent anything at all.My school does not provide a bus system, so my mother would have to be driving me every to school and back. She says she doesn't want to do that because she hates driving all that.My friend who is a junior has been attending and will attend this school she goes to our church and we know her mom. I told my mom that we could carpool with her and she could carpool us, and switch on and on every week, but she still isn't convinced about driving those 30 minutes. I could use the city's public bus system but it does not go all the way to my house or the town we live in, the farthest it goes out is 15 minutes away from my house. What advice can you give me? Power supply issue...?

Here's the deal. I have an eMachines desktop that I haven't had any problems with up until recently. I noticed that it won't power on at all now. I've researched a little and I'm guessing that the power supply is shot. Here's something to add to the equation. I pulled out my older Dell to use in the mean time and it started to power up and when I come back to it, the amber light is blinking on the power button. Therefore, I have no power to either computer. I tried plugging both computers into a different outlet to see if maybe it was the surge protector. I also tried out a different power cord. My question is what is causing this? Do you think that maybe the surge protector or power cord that was being used could have zapped both of the power supplies. I'm hesitant to purchase a new computer to only plug it in and ruin it right off the bat. Thanks!!

I have multiple questions about my diet and the problems i've been having..(Please help)?

Okay so, for a long time now, i've been dieting and exercising along with it obviously. Btw im a 14 year old girl, and my height is 5'6... weight, ill get into that later..(you'll see). So now for my exercise, i recently started running the mile... i was starting with once a week, then i eventually started running it almost everyday(trying) with the weather being crappy, rain etc. , also my brother, was taking me to the high school track where i live and that kind of stopped between him working, not having time, and being busy most of the time. So that stopped so i started instead walking down to my school which is literally a 6 minute walk away and running around the field 4 times or either the school(got sick of the field so just recently started running the school) which is a mile cause i did in gym class. I think this whole week, ever since monday, i've ran it everyday. i don't even know how to tell you my weigh and if its water or fat, it sucks! im either 157, 162,163,164,or 165. i was 163 last night, started out with 162 this morning, and now im 165! Ever since february, my doctor's appointment, i was 168, and i haven't seen that weight in a while so i think ive lost that.. i was told that i was not fat, but basically overweight for my age. I started cutting back little by little at that time, and it was hard for me so i stopped,(which i REALLY wish i didn't have) and started eating again, however somehow maintaining that weight(i forget howw) then it got easier in march, i figured out more ways, obviously april, and may... and i forget when but like i said i started running the mile little by little and now. So, my question is losing weight.. like more than 10.. but i actually think i know why this hasn't been going well is because the main reason, my dieting. It's been HORRIBLE and sooo hard for me. Between these awful cravings(my mom thinks im a sugar addict) and not being able to control it whatso ever. and the fact that i haven't been losing any weight, as much as i want to in this amount of time that im starting to give up then start up back again which is taking me incredibly soooo much amount of time than what i want it to. the beginning of today was going good for me, i was thinking about running the mile twice, but im soo tired and i just recently got a pain on the top of my leg, bottom, and it feels like a bruise and hurts running... there always has to be some freaking problem making it even HAAARDER for me! ugh! sorry.. the end of today though, not so good. i skipped dinner, thinking i would lose more, but it ended up backfiring me from being sooo hungry for the rest of the night. i did eat watermelon and a banana for dinner. but so farr ive aten 2 yogurts, two ice cream sandwhiches, ice cream, chips, i think maybe even a little bit more but yeah.... :( then i got really mad and started doing pushups and everything. i weighted myself, i was back at 165 and i totally gave up and started eating more but now, its stopped as i speak. My plan was to lose like all the extra fat off of me, so i could be skinny or thin again like 15-20 pounds before atleast summer, then it extended to 4th of july so i could be able to enjoy the food and wear nice clothing and look good and feel confident but now, 4th of july is just around the corner(3 days) and i have a party im attending and its not going to go well unless you could just magically lose 20 pounds in 3 days... maybe even just 10.... also, forget to mention, but my mom did say she has noticed a bloatyness i had on my face off and i look a bit less bloaty kind of that small layer of fat off if you know what i mean.... i dont get how that can happen when i was 168, 3 pounds more(well, depends if im still 165, never know with me i could go back down or whatever ugh) but that i dont get.. soooo.... Well, I agree overall to what you say. The choice to have children is based upon a fantasy that love lasts forever, and that there will be family here always to look out for you. Sometimes it works out that way, sometimes you can have nine kids none of whom visit you in a nursing home. You can have kids with birth defects, personality defects, etc. Nothing is guaranteed, and its like rolling the dice. And overall, yes, life consists of little happiness and much suffering. If you think carefully, you will come to the conclusion that the best gift you can give your children is to not have them in the first place. Hi. I'm 15 years old (just turned) and I wish to become emancipated. At the moment the relationship between my parents and I has been escalated from verbal abuse to physical, my mum has punched me and usually pushes me, also tells me how much she regrets having me and that I'm useless. My dad was there for me until about a year ago where he became almost as bad we got into a fight about me being sick and not wanting to attend a restuaraunt and he pushed me on to a road (brunswick street in the city which is a very busy road) I would have landed in dead on traffic had I not caught myself on a car, the fight was because I said I wanted to go home because it's to hot and I was getting sunburnt. I don't feel safe in my current environment, walking on egg shells at home which causes me to behave quite differently at school, loud and distracted, I just need a place to be free where I can live my life with out screaming matches. I work at walmart in the apparel department. My managers have "couched" me to to point of making me ball my eyes out. I would go with Demarini. I've never like Nike bats or the Louisville Sluggers. Right now I have a Demarini Vexxum that's a year old. It's been absolutely great and Demarini is always very durable. This has been happening since the seventh grade. I would be fine one minute, then I would turn my head and I would have a burst of pain shoot up from the base of my neck up to the back right section of my head. I wouldn't be able to move and barely talk for a good 10 seconds after it happened. In the seventh grade, they would happen at least every other day. They went away for a while and I forgot about them for a few years, then they started coming back recently. They aren't as common as they used to be, but it's enough for me and my mom to notice. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening to me?

Why do so many kids and adults alike feel it's okay to kill insects!?

I currently attend high school, and I see so many kids go out of their way to kill a poor insect! There is a Wonderful student who when in gym class saw a spider that the gym teacher didn't notice. She yelled "Wait a spider!" She leaped across the hallway and got a peice of paper to help move the spider! I was so glad that the teacher said that he wouldn't kill it, He even helped to move the spider out of the way! Then we went to begin class, when this kid who could mean purposely, when no one was looking stepped on it, and squished it! The sick part was that when he was smooshing it into the ground he was smiling and getting a sick pleasure out of it! I was one of the only people that unfortunately saw it! I'm a kind person, but after that I was ENRAGED!! I would love to hear people who understand what I am saying! He has done this more than once and I always seem to be the only one that seems to have the empathy and compassion to where I am drawn to tears, when I see these horrid acts of cruelty!! Installation problems?

Yea sounds like you have a few problems if I read that correctly, leave the car running on a flat spot, check the dipstick for tranny fluid should be to the right of the engine bay on your specific car, make sure to pull it out wipe and dip it, has to be at the second dot, it would only be doing that if the fluid is unreasonably low, if its not low and its full of fluid, your gear are probably starting to slip, high rpms while going a decent amount of speed is a sign of tranny failing, so is revving high before it goes, usually it bangs when it kicks in, if everything is banging a lot and making the interior of the car shake obnoxiously it could be the motor mounts, before you do ANY maintenance done and waste your money, get it diagnosed by a trusted friend that knows a lot about cars, when something is wrong with a car and you tell the mechanic to just FIX IT and you say you don't know what it is or much about cars they see jackpot and rip you off, so find someone who won't charge you to diagnose the problem and give you a quote, another good tip if your using a mechanic shop to fix it, tell them you'll buy the parts and bring them in, mechanics buy the cheapest brand, lowest quality part and charge you like they bought the best one, I'm not stereotyping mechanics, because i am one lol and i know all the ripping off that goes on, and honestly if any repair cost over $1000, i'd say scrap it, you get like $400 to junkyard a car depending on how much scrap they get out of it and model/make, because spending $1000 or more on a car that is 15 years old is just a terrible investment, for example, take the $400 and the $1000 that "say" it costs to fix your car, give or take a few hundred bucks and you get a decent reliable high 90s early 2000's 4 cylinder car, just trying to help people out who don't know much about cars, cause everyone gets ripped off these days it sucks, they should make automotive a mandatory class in middle/highschool cause everyone needs to drive and everyones car is gunna break some day, instead of them getting ripped off they'll have knowledge of what wrong atleast, ok i'm done preaching, good luck!

Why has the oven (both bake and broil) on my electric range oven stopped working?

This is the second time this has happened this year! The first time it happened we simply replaced our older appliance with a slightly newer, used one. This one is a GE and has no clock or any self-cleaning controls. It just has the 4 range/burner controls with a single oven control in the middle, which controls both oven temperature and broil. Neither the broil nor baking features work at all, and the indicator light does not come on when I turn on the oven. The range seems to be working fine, however. What's the problem? And why has it happened more than once so recently? We live in a very old house, and I'm concerned about the old wiring. Could there be surges or failures causing this?

Help!! Anybody who has a child with ADHD or autism?

Hi, my 3 year old is super hyper. She can sit still for a little while usually only when she's drawing. She refuses to listen o anything I say to her. Or anyone else. I think she's really smart, she can put together puzzles on my phone in 2-3 seconds. She remembers things from a long time ago. She memorizes entire movies and can say them word for word. She amazes me all the time. But she pushes me until I can't handle it anymore. She does the same things repetitively over and over knowing she gets trouble for them. But when you ask her what she did wrong she will tell you. I don't understand why she knowingly tries to get into trouble. She's always been very high strung since she was a baby. She was climbing baby gates at 14-15 months. She is like MacGyver (sp?) she will figure a way to get something she wants, whether it means climbing on top of cabinets or side stepping along my entertainment center to get something from it. I can't take my eyes off her for a minute (literally) or she will find something to get into. I'm afraid she's going to hurt herself if I leave her even to go to the bathroom. Why is America still so racist?

I swear, everywhere I go, there is racism. For example, I attend a very diverse college and I attend that college because I love to meet people from all nationalities and racial backgrounds. I have an African-American friend in one of my classes that I have known for years (were best friends), and I am white. Everyone in the classroom looks at us strange when we joke around because, obviously, were different colored. People in the class on multiple occasions have asked why he hangs around me and why I hang around him (yes we hear you racist bigots in the background lol). I had an IUI when I ouvlated but my RE couldn't see a follicle?

I got an "almost positive" ovulation tuesday night (it was too close to call) and then Wednesday I got a full on positive on two different tests. So I scheduled the IUI at 1 that day. Well so they did the IUI and after wards she checked my ovaries and said she couldn't find anything. She said since I got a positive the night before that I might have just ovulated right before I came in for my appointment. She did bloodwork on me just to be sure I wasn't having a false positive. She called me back and said I did have my LH surge and that I was ovulating after they got the results. Well shouldn't she have seen like a ruptured follicle or something then, even if I did ovulate? She saw nothing and that really concerns me. My follicle was somewhat small 15mm only 3 days before this. It was growing on average of 1.25mm a day so it might have been around 18 mm on the day I ovulated. Is that too small? Did I miss the window for the IUI?

I have a 1991 subaru legacy which dies our after i start it?

the computer tell me that its the surge selenoid from the gas tank so I put it direct and it worked fine for five minutes and then it started dying out on me again. when the engine is in low idle it will stop but if I press the gas pedal to the bottom it will reb up to 5000 rpm without a miss if I keep it between 3000 and 5000 rpms it will run without a miss otherwise the engine stops. But sometimes I start it and it will run without any misses and after a will it will start missing and the engine stops. This car has a plug in the cumputer for checking the engine codes. When I connect the plug and turn the key to on position the cooling fan on the radiator starts to go on and off, and the relays will start to click on and off, also the gas pump will turn on and off. It's as if I was tuning the key to the on and off position over and over again. I did test the purge selenoid by connecting a test lamp to the battery and no current goes thru it.. my next step is to bring a computer and plug it to the car ecm to see if it will give me another code. anybody got any ideas as to what it could be.

My in laws use my sons to get to my husband. They will contact them and then once they hear from my husband they do not contact my sons again. My sons do not like to have friction so they go along with them. Over the years they have caused problems to the point that my husband got a new cell phone and never called any of them to give them his new number. Now the current situation is that my husbands oldest sister died of cancer and the memorial soon and he has not responded to their text. This year, as a freshman, I've been attending a really difficult private high school (400 students) which really helps you prep for college. I can literally only get a 3.0 gpa in regular classes, it's hard. I usually get straight A's in my old school.. have a choice to go to a public school (1200 students) where the classes are simpler and i can work my way up to honor classes with easier assignments. But if i choose to go to public school, they won't prep me much at all for university, but I'll have better grades. Which should i choose? It's really difficult. I feel that i have more scholastic potential at public school, but it will have a lot more social for me. I really don't know what to do at this point. My full potential is not shown at the private school, it might be better for me at a more simple public schooling. HELP! * thank you very much!

Lets say you wake up on an operating table and you're awake and alert but you can't move and you got the doctor's and nurses' attention and they just look at you can move on doing the procedure and everything; could they do that? Like lets say they're removing your appendix and they keep you awake and you feel EVERYTHING they're doing and they don't stop even though they see the pain in your eyes. How much money could you get if you win in court? What would happen to the doctor(s) and nurse(s)? What would happen to the hospital?

Following up from my question that was unfortunately deleted by the misogynists, I called this dangerous man I met the other day who gave me his number and offered me out for coffee Friday. However, before I could tell him I would be unable to attend due to the uncertainty of my own safety, He apologized for never considering how much danger he was potentially putting me in by not thinking of how dangerous he, himself is. He begged for my apology, stating that his sudden cloudy judgment upon asking initially was the fault of being male and possessing an inferior mind. Then he offered to rent a cell at the nearest high maximum security prison in which we could enjoy coffee from opposing sides of the bars, not until voluntarily undergoing a cavity search by the of the officers and walking through a metal detector as well, of-course. I couldn't turn down such a generous and secure offer. I told him it was such a shame most men aren't willing to accommodate for their dangerous nature. so that goes back to the question above, why aren't more men willing to accommodate for their dangerous nature to insure the safety of women?

Can having sex often during ovulation decrease the chance of becoming pregnant?

My husband and I are trying to conceive our second child. I took an ovulation test for the past week and it showed negative every day until this morning so it was positive for my LH surge. If we have intercourse twice a day can it hurt our chance of becoming pregnant? Or does it not matter? Answers please everyone!!!! Ovulating and hoping to conceive this month!!! Thank you!

Advise or similar stories welcomed......WARNING:it is long!?

My LMP was May 23 and my cycles range from 28(rare)-37(rare) days long with most of my cycles being about 33-35 days. My hubby and I did our little baby dance every day to every other during the week of June 6th-14th which should have been prime ovulating time. We were on vacation and in the ocean/pool every day all day so I didn't notice any stretchy/sticky cm but I do get it every single month! I do not temp. but I did use ovulation sticks and would get two lines but the test was never as dark as the control so either I missed my surge, my urine was too dilute or I didn't ovulate(which I doubt). I forget the exact date but around the 17th of this month I felt a sharp pinch on my right side and I was thinking ovulation or implantation. I took another OPK and got two lines again with the test still lighter than the control. Since then I have had cramping(especially on right side), alternating diarrhea and constipation, tiredness, increased urination, and still no period but the real kicker is my boob KILL! My boobs never hurt before my period but they kill on the sides, nipple is itchy and they feel fuller. Today is day 36 and still no period. I took a first response early pregnancy test this evening and it was negative. I will re-test in a couple days which feels like forever. I honestly feel pregnant. I have occasional bouts of some scant nauseous feeling but it never stays. Anyone else test negative with the early tests and still end up pregnant? what do you think? Please do not be rude and say "just test" because that is not what I am asking!

Can a business charge me now for something they forgot to charge me weeks or even months ago?

My daycare has a policy that says after 90 days of attending your child is only allowed 10 days of vacation and any other missed days I am responsible for payment as if my child was there. I have no problem with this, however it turns out the day care was overcharging me for months. When it was brought to their attention they said they would issue me a refund. Except, instead they went back and added up all my child's missed days of school and deducted from my refund. I was never charged for the missing days when they actually occurred and now I feel like it is only being done so they don't have to pay me back my full refund.

Almost 8 years ago my husband began speaking to a girl who lives in Australia, every time he has tried to quit talking to her she has gained access to his contact list for his phone that is synchronized with his gmail account and begins calling everyone on the list. Last november she set up a complete scam of her being abducted and raped and had a three year old child with her, obviously my husband believing this to be true called police and fbi got involved because of possible abduction. The whole story was completely made up, my husband ended up being arrested even though the fbi saw all the messages she was sending (she was not even in the country she set scam up from australia). Now she is calling companies I deal with trying to get all my information. She was able to access his cell phone account and change all his information on it, and is now sending threatening messages about contacting his probation officer to make sure his life is completely F**ked. I attend college and she has tried withdrawling me from college. She is a complete nut job, and after speaking to FBI that dealt with this to begin with the only thing they are telling me that we can do is get a restraining order. Why is she not being dealt with? He was on house arrest for 6 months and could not go anywhere and she showed up where he had to stay. Of course she was forced to leave, but the fact remains the same, he couldn't go anywhere, and if she were to do something he would not have been able to protect himself. We have a 10 year old son, and she has called on his cell phone, it is completely out of control and I can't seem to get any answers on how to get this person to stop. We are completely afraid to do anything where she might be able to get our information, find out where we live now, and afraid that she may do something else. I am at a loss and feel completely helpless, my husband doesn't know what to do, because if he doesn't answer her she goes completely balistic. Like I said we have made contact with FBI and now with an attorney, however she keeps going and it doesn't seem after almost 8 years that there is ever going to be an end to this. We know she has relatives here so she comes to the states, and this is what scares us, what is she gonna do when she is here? I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me some answers on this, this is beyond stalking and is ruining our lives. Please help.
