Does God hold a christian responsible for a lie...... or is it?

I understand many people have so many different beliefs and I find it wonderful to see them expressed. However, that being said, there has been some nasty comments made in relation to other users religions and beliefs even claims made that are grossly inaccurate. I mean this is a broad sense to many different faiths. Some of these remarks have no truth to them at all when I research them for my own personal knowledge. Does this make it a lie? and if so is the Christian making the statement accountable to God for knowingly or unknowingly saying this? what are your thoughts?
