Is a landlord legally responsible if he knows and allows drugs to be sold on his property?

Basically I'm asking if the landlord is responsible if he knowingly or turns his head to tenants selling drugs on his property. What are the legal implications of that? Looking for someone with actually legal experience in law or law enforcement.
